Dear Friends,

As my term as president comes to an end and our next leader takes us into a new PFLAG of Jacksonville term, I want to thank the board, committee chairpersons and membership for the many things that we have all accomplished together.

The past few months have been filled with many national and local changes and events—our latest event was the highlight of the year, The Scholarship Banquet.  Nineteen glbt individuals were awarded scholarships for the 2011-2012 school semester—without the help of all our contributors this could of never happened.  Our meetings have been filled with interesting programs  and discussions  and this will continue to be even stronger with a very focused program chairperson, Debbie Carter. 

All of our members and supporters have continued to have Jacksonville create a united community which will be able to forge ahead with many changes in the future.  PFLAG of Jacksonville will always continue to work together with the lgbt community as well as the community  at large to create an atmosphere of safety, caring, and unity.
